Mrs. Mullen’s High School STEM class recently finished their boat engineering unit. First, they learned about the science of Buoyancy and Archimedes Principle. Then they got to test their knowledge and engineering skills to see if they could build a cardboard boat that they could paddle across the pool. They had a great time testing their designs! Thank you to Scott Hebblethwaite and our Village Board for allowing us to use the pool to try out our boats. Also thank you to Natalie for lifeguarding for our afternoon trip to the pool.

Our English III students had the opportunity to travel to the Merryman Performing Arts Center for a live performance of Come From Away!
This acclaimed Broadway musical tells the powerful true story of 7,000 stranded airline passengers diverted to the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, during the September 11, 2001 attacks. On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, watching this history unfold on stage was a truly incredible experience.
After the show, students participated in a special talkback panel with the professional cast and Elizabeth Katt, a Lincoln resident who was personally on one of the flights diverted to Gander on September 11th.
A huge thank you to the Crane River Theater Company for providing such a meaningful experience!
