Paxton Return to School Plan. Elevated Risk (Orange)
There are increasing or high stable numbers of COVID positive cases OR percent positive cases due to community or regional spread
There is an increase in Flu-Like Symptoms OR COVID like syndromic cases.
Clusters or outbreaks exist that are still likely in their early stages, plans to quarantine students and staff are implemented with the consideration for digital learning.
There is only enough testing available for symptomatic people.
Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department must rely on assistance to conduct investigation for new cases and associated and contact tracing.
PPE supplies are only adequate for critical healthcare workers.
Critical medical equipment is in limited supply.
Guidelines for Elevated Risk are the same as for Moderate Risk except for the following:
● Wearing masks is required whenever 6 ft. physical distancing is not possible for 15 minutes or longer.
● Breakfast and lunch may be served in smaller groups such as in-classroom dining.
● Visitors are allowed, appointments are recommended. Restrictions may apply. Masks are required.
● Field trips and extracurricular activities may be suspended. All guidelines of the governing body of the activity (NSAA, FFA, etc.) will be followed in addition to DHM (Direct Health Measures) and Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department guidelines.

Dear Parents and Students,
The SWNPHD Risk Dial is now Red (Severe Risk). In response to this change and concerns about the possibility of increasing Covid cases in school, the District will move to Orange (Elevated Risk) on the Paxton Return to School Plan. It is important for all of us to do our part to continue with in-person learning. Please read the attached Return to School Plan and the latest SWNPHD information. Help keep our school community safe by masking when you are unable to social distance.
Thank you, Mr. Dack

Dear Paxton School Families,
Below is important information from Southwest Nebraska Public Health District. Please take time to read this important information.
Gatherings and Community Spread in Southwest Nebraska
Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) had 192 new cases of COVID-19 reported from October 27th to November 2nd.
Case investigations have revealed that most of the current spread of COVID-19 in southwest Nebraska is occurring at small gatherings and workplaces, along with community spread. SWNPHD recommends that everyone take precautions to protect their friends, neighbors, and coworkers by avoiding the 3 C’s, even in small groups, which are 1) crowded places, 2) close contact, and 3) confined spaces.
Please wear a mask when you are unable to avoid the 3 C’s. We ALL need to do our part to keep the 20-21 school year going with in-person learning.
Mr. Dack
