Freshmen English students dove into Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s The Yellow Wallpaper, analyzing its powerful themes and symbolism. To take their understanding to the next level, students selected excerpts from the story and created mixed media interpretations on canvas.
Alongside their artwork, they wrote reflections explaining the significance of their chosen quote, its connection to the story, and how their creative process mirrored the symbolism in the text. Good work, Freshmen!

⚖️ Sophomore English Goes to Trial 📚
This semester, Sophomore English students explored justice and fairness through To Kill a Mockingbird and the trial of Tom Robinson. Then, things got real -- Mrs. Schim’s charger went missing, and in a dramatic twist (and a nod to our novel) a student was wrongfully accused.
To bring the lesson to life, students held a full mock trial, complete with attorneys, witnesses, a judge, jury, and even a public audience from other classes. Though the judge was the victim (probably grounds for a mistrial, but oh well 🤷♀️), it was a fun and creative way to end the semester! Thanks to everyone who participated!

The 7th Grade FACS class completed a dairy unit. They ate fresh cheese curds, churned butter, and sampled the whey from butter making.
