100 is a super number! First graders celebrated the 100th day of school with 100 day stations involving counting to 100, building with 100, creating 100 thing masterpieces, and ordering 100 things. They also made a superhero 100 day cape with 100 things on it.
High school choir students traveled to Wallace today for the RPAC Vocal Clinic. Each school performed one song and then joined together has one large choir for more musical selections. It was a great concert! Well done students and Mrs. Peters!
NHS is hosting our Paxton Blood Drive today in the west gym at the school from 10:30-4:30. Come in through the west doors please. We have several afternoon appointments open. Walk ins are welcome.

Intro to Ag students visited the first grade class on Thursday to teach them about the growth cycle of plants. First graders got to learn about the different parts of the plant, plant their own popcorn seeds, and will journal about the changes they see in their seeds as they grow.
6th grade science has been learning about thermal energy. They each put on their engineering hat and completed a challenge to build their own cooler to keep ice frozen for 24 hours. The class celebrated their hard work and accomplishments today with a pizza party for lunch.
Blood drive update!!! If you received a notice saying something about your donation being cancelled, here might be the reason. They will not be able to take Power Red donations (Doubles) due to staffing issues. They can however take regular blood donations. The NHS members are hosting the Red Cross blood drive on Monday, February 6, from 10:30-4:30, in the West gym. Donors are welcome to enter through the west doors between the gym and the football field. If you have not made your appointment yet, please do so using your Blood Donor app or calling the school. High School Science Update: Biology students examined ‘stomach samples’ for macromolecules to solve a crime, Physics students are comparing the amount of work done when the forces are parallel vs when at an angel, and Physical Science students tried to answer the question of how salt affects ice and why we would put that on our sidewalks in the winter.
The General Science Class toured Gerald Gentleman Station in Sutherland to see first hand how coal is used to produce electricity. Thank you to Connor Merrill and Cory Holm for showing us around!
