The 2nd grade students have been working on properties of matter and how certain materials and designs are chosen for a task. In this challenge they had to build a marshmallow tower that was over 15 cm tall and could stand on its own for more than 5 seconds.

In 7th grade English, students are taking on the role of novel characters and making World War II war effort posters to go along with our book, Farewell to Manzanar. Students are learning about historical context, author perspective, and putting themselves into the shoes of others. Way to be creative, Tigers!

Today’s challenge for 6th grade: build a tower as tall as Taven with less than 150 blocks.

The 6th grade will be creating their own building challenges with legos and blocks. The challenge was picked and the groups had to build a free standing tower 3 feet tall with only legos in 25 minutes. They accomplished this and decided they could build even higher with the right design ideas. We are working on cooperation and using encouraging words as well as completing the challenge.
