Paxton, Nebraska, nestled in the heart of the Midwest, is more than just a dot on the map. It's a vibrant community with a rich history, unique attractions, and resilient residents. High school journalism students were given the opportunity to shine a spotlight on Paxton by creating a comprehensive article on the town.
The assignment allowed students the opportunity to hone their journalistic skills, from conducting interviews and researching historical facts to crafting compelling narratives and visual storytelling. Through their exploration of Paxton, students not only gained a deeper appreciation for their hometown, but also developed valuable communication and storytelling abilities.
Junior, Emmalee Nicholson, crafted the following article on Paxton, NE and what the town means to her. Well-done, Emmalee!

We are SO proud of you! National PAEMST Finalist!
The 6th graders all completed book projects on our last class novel, I Will Always Write Back. One of the project options was to create a board game that integrates themes, characters, and plot elements from the book. Multiple people took on this project and had great results! Their classmates all got the chance to play each other’s games and retest their knowledge of the book! We love the creativity! :)

The Case of the Missing 3D shapes—cubes, cylinders, cones, and spheres!
The kindergartners have been learning about 3D shapes and yesterday they were gone! 🧐 We looked everywhere for them but couldn’t find them anywhere! Today, we decided to make wanted posters in hopes of finding them. We've learned that they look like boxes, traffic cones, globes, Sprite and Dr. Pepper cans, ball pit balls, ice cream cones, and dice. We sure hope they come back to help us finish our unit!
Good luck, Tiger Quiz Bowl Team competing at the ESU 16 Competition today. Go Tigers!!!
